I loved having visitors at the hospital! I didn't get pictures of all of them but thank you all for coming! It was wonderful to have that support :-) This is in no particular order and by no means everyone who came-thanks for coming even if you aren't pictured below!
Part of what I love about the girls' names is that they were both popular 100 years ago and many people with those names are now great-grandmas. Both names evoke a vision for me of sweet old ladies rocking away together on a porch. I pray Ella and Sadie will live meaningful lives full of love and will be enjoying each other on a front porch somewhere many years from now.

Visitors!
Sadie Grace
Sadie is now 7 weeks old but I figure I should start at the beginning...
Because of "significant pelvic floor damage" and corrective surgery after my natural birth with Ella, I was forbidden to do that again (no complaints here!). So, I had a scheduled C-section which went fine. Not my favorite hour (the spinal had to be done twice, my neck and shoulders were shaking uncontrollably during the whole surgery, and my doctor was chatting about her beach vacation the whole time and didn't talk to me) but we got a healthy baby out of it and the recovery wasn't too bad-by 6 weeks I felt pretty much normal again :-)

This was before my poor cold-blooded husband was told he couldn't wear his clothes under the scrubs :-(

First Day of School 2010
Ella started her 3rd year at her preschool last week! She's going to school 5 mornings a week this year! I was sad/worried about that until Sadie arrived and now I think it's great for Ella to have time with friends every morning while I can rest or get things done with just 1 kid in tow. As always, Ella LOVES school, has a bunch of "best friends," and is enjoying learning new things all the time. She taught herself to write her last name this summer (from listening to me spell it over the phone many times!) and is really interested in sounding out words (reading) and writing. She's doing great!

And here's what Sadie did on Ella's first day of school...
