Part of what I love about the girls' names is that they were both popular 100 years ago and many people with those names are now great-grandmas. Both names evoke a vision for me of sweet old ladies rocking away together on a porch. I pray Ella and Sadie will live meaningful lives full of love and will be enjoying each other on a front porch somewhere many years from now.

The Evolution of Sink Time

Ella gets to stand on a chair and play in the sink at Nana's house and she LOVES it. She can't reach the water in our kitchen sink because it's too far back so she usually plays with water outside. However, Aunt Marissa was here and decided that if Ella wanted to play in the sink she should just get in the sink and it evolved from there.

Standing in the water, playing with her tootbrush, very tame

Drinking the water, very clean, going well so far...

Then, she sat in the water, we took off her onesie, and she spotted Daddy finishing off the brownie batter and wanted in on that...

Getting into it...

Getting REALLY into it.

Then we decided it was a good time for her to try a popsicle since she was already messy.

Chris, Marissa, and I laughed for a LONG time watching her and Ella had a (very messy, sugary) blast.
