Part of what I love about the girls' names is that they were both popular 100 years ago and many people with those names are now great-grandmas. Both names evoke a vision for me of sweet old ladies rocking away together on a porch. I pray Ella and Sadie will live meaningful lives full of love and will be enjoying each other on a front porch somewhere many years from now.

From Tires to Tiaras

We had a really fun day last Friday-first playgroup at a Tire Playground that I had never been to (and it's $2 and 20 min away-awesome!) then went to a special Princess Storytime at the Library where the kids could dress up! Great times with friends and I had a really good time enjoying Ella and all that 3 1/2 means. SUCH a fun age.

I got to play with a friend's baby-she's SO adorable!

Ella was quite the adventurous climber!

Sadly, right at the end of the playdate, Hope got stung by a bee :-( SO sad to see her in pain but she recovered quickly-kids are resilient!

All dressed up and ready for some stories!

After storytime we got to help the kids make tiaras. Here's Halle sporting her finished project.

All the girls finished and posing! Super fun day! I LOVE having a girl!

*Thanks Esther for the awesome pictures!!

Valentine's Day!!

We had a great Valentine's Weekend!

We made 2lbs of chocolate covered strawberries! They were SO good.

Chris had all of this waiting for Ella and I-he was very sneaky :-) The pink paper in the front had an itinerary for our whole day! We had so much fun-a pedicure for me while he dropped Ella off with his mom, museum, lunch, coffee shop, then a movie!

A great new coffee shop in the city that we found after going to 3 places that were closed! The red hearts were part of a game Chris made up for us to play where we had to think of our favorite memories in about 20 different categories. He's so sweet and it was a lot of fun :-)

Valentine's dinner with my extended family! My Dad is SO sweet-he brought a dozen roses for EACH of us!!! And a bear for Ella :-)

Then, my mom gave Ella this amazing princess dress, shoes, and crown. She was SO happy.

Dancing with Daddy. What a perfect way to end a wonderful Valentine's weekend.

Sick but still sweet

We're sick. It stinks. I have an upper respiratory infection and Ella has a lower respiratory infection. She went to the doctor last night, she went with me for my appt. this morning, and we went to another doctor for her to get a chest x-ray before that because she might have pneumonia (her cousin and my dad both do). She's been remarkably good through all of it and doesn't really seem sick even though she has a horrendous sounding cough and horribly runny eyes and nose. Not much lethargy and no more whining than normal are great signs that she'll be better soon. Hope that's true for all of us. So, not much to blog about but here's a conversation we just had a few minutes ago.

Ella: Mom, I love you more than Cinderella
Me: Really? Thanks Ella!
Ella: I love you more than all the Princesses!
Me: Wow! Thanks!
Ella: I love Daddy more than Raleigh (the dog)
Me: That's good
Ella: Mom can we get a kitty-cat?
Me: I don't think so, Raleigh wouldn't like that
...long pause...
Ella: Mom, I love you more than princesses and kitty-cats. I really do.

How cute is she?? Right now princesses and kitty-cats are at the TOP of the totem pole so I'm feeling pretty special :-)

A little sick day fort fun :-)
